I am honored to do a post close to my heart. The art of dance has always been a place of pure love for me. It brings back a childhood memory of creating a broadway show in my own living room. This December is no different. Not only will being in a theatre with the gracious Debbie Allen and the rest of the cast, on a journey of a famous Christmas play we will get to experience what’s it like to travel around the world in a beautiful light The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND FOR THE SIXTH YEAR! The Debbie Allen Dance Academy, & The Annenberg Foundation in association with the Music Center are proud to present “The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker” at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.  Following the idea of the original, its Christmas Eve and the Johnsons are having a grand party. The Christmas gifts are shared and young Kara receives a Nutcracker filled with hot chocolate – her favorite. She falls asleep and the journey begins when the Nutcracker comes alive!  Kara takes the audience on a mystical, magical journey, from Candy Cane Land, Egypt, the Indian Rain forest,Bollywood, Jazz land, and the Land of the Kimono Dolls.  Starring Debbie Allen, Raven Symone, Carlo Imperato, Tichina Arnold, Rasta Thomas, and many more! With an original score by Mariah Carey, Arturo Sandoval, Chau-Giang Thi Nguyen, James Ingram, Shiamak Davar, Tena Clark and Thump, “The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker” is sure to be a hit with audiences of all ages.
