Join me for the 3rd Annual ShiftCon – the premier eco-wellness social media conference – will be held Dec. 1-3, 2016  at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.

Do you watch the labels on the items you buy? I have found a conference on an eco-friendly surfer as yourself. Shiftcon was designed to bring the online eco-wellness blogging niche together into one powerful community. Bloggers, social media specialists, nonprofits, health and sustainability experts, and leading natural, organic, and eco-friendly brands to shift the way the world could be greater at voluntarily GMO labeling and artificial ingredient removal to increased legislative banning of toxic substances.

Founder, blogger, mom, and entrepreneur Leah Segedie offers us an annual environmental networking and learning event. Industry experts will host interactive workshops on social media practices, food safety, GMO labeling, organic food production, sustainability and environment. Through networking events, hospitality suites and an Expo attendees also have an opportunity to learn about products initiatives and meet with companies and nonprofits that are helping to create a healthier, world.

After two successful conferences in the Los Angeles area, Leah decided to bring it to the East Coast  for easier access and broadening the spectrum and diversity of attendees.

Still I rise #MayaAngelou

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise

Harlem Hopscotch by Maya Angelou

Harlem Hopscotch

One foot down, then hop! it’s hot.

Good things for the ones that’s got.

Another jump, now to the left.

Everybody for hisself.

In the air, now both feet down.

Since you black, don’t stick around.

Food is gone, the rent is due,

Curse and cry then jump two.

All the people out of work,

Hold for three, then twist and jerk.

Cross the line, they count you out.

That’s what hopping’s all about.

Both feet flat, the game is done.

They think I lost. I think I won.

Rest well.

Everyday is Mother’s Day!!

Dear 33 yr old self,

On mother’s day and everyday you are going to thank the universe for all the many blessings you have received and continue to receive. There will be low days and high days but when you look into the eyes of each of your children that goes away. This mother’s day I hope you can take a moment and realize what dreams you put on hold to service others. How about fixing that strap on the dress you have been meaning to wear for the past year. Or that business proposal on that invention you have been meaning to submit but think it may be too crazy for the world. Go for it! Give yourself thanks for getting up this morning and taking care of you.  Thank yourself for always putting love before tangible items because they can’t buy love or time. I pray that you go for the things that make you happy. Say thank you to your kids and husband for giving you that reason because everyone needs one to keep moving.

Thank you,

Andrea Price
