Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California is where we take our journey. Zuma Beach is one of the cleanest wide sand surf spots in Los Angeles County. It has 14 lifeguards’ towers that are protected by the Los Angles Fire Department. Patrons are encouraged not to swim or surf in front of the lifeguard Headquarters between towers 8 and 9 because of the rip in the current.
You can do any of these activities while on the beach. Swimming which, lifeguards is provided during the day. It has great surfing waves. Wind surfing, I would really like to try. Diving, Volleyball Courts with restrooms and showers to clean off the excess sand. They also have wheelchair access for those in need. When we plan our beach outing with the kids. Plan on staying the entire day with it picturesque views of the ocean. A normal beach day would consists of boogie boards, life vests a blanket a light picnic and an idea of staying until the sun sets.
Did you know that it is a film hot spot? Some of my favorite television shows and films has been mentioned or seen in action. Baywatch, I Dream of Jeannie and Planet of the Apes to name a few were shot or mentioned on Zuma Beach. I use to play dress up like Jeannie from the hit show I Dream of Jeannie when we had the Halloween parade at school. Playing dress up is one of my favorite things to do. Zuma Beach was mentioned in one of the episodes. Now if you know me, Planet of the Apes with Charleston Heston is a favorite of mine. So when I found out that a small scene was filmed here I had to go check it out.
Zuma Beach is known for hosting surfing events throughout the year. Its charity efforts include the Malibu Nautica Triathlon to benefit Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
